Helen Oluokun

Project Manager and Level 1 Research Associate

Helen officially joined the Helps Education Funds in 2019 as a graduate student at North Carolina State University in the School Psychology Program working with Dr. John Begeny. However, she has been involved with projects related to Helps Education Fund since her first year at NC State.

Helen earned her B.S. in Neuroscience and B.A. in Classical Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2016. After graduating, Helen worked as a teacher’s assistant at Cutchins’ New Direction school for a year before moving to North Carolina to begin her doctoral studies.

Helen is currently in her fourth-year of the School Psychology program. She intends on returning back to Nigeria to improve its educational system by  working with schools to provide adequate support and services to all school- aged children. Helen believes everyone deserves a right to an education. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and participating in church-run mentorship and leadership programs.
