Jiwoo Kim

Program Assistant and Implementation Coach

Jiwoo was born in Incheon, South Korea and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina when she was 12 years old. She attended North Carolina State University, obtaining her B.A. in psychology with a minor in Nonprofit Studies in 2022.

Jiwoo began building relationships with local refugee families in Raleigh with her church in 2016. This developed her passion of serving marginalized communities, especially youth. Since the summer of 2020, Jiwoo has been coordinating with a nonprofit group that delivers diverse learning materials to refugee children in Raleigh. With the aim of promoting educational equity, Jiwoo has worked to remove barriers to quality education and ensure that everyone–regardless of race, ethnicity, language, their parents’ education, and/or socioeconomic background status—can receive a high-quality education.

Jiwoo will continue her studies at North Carolina State University to pursue Master’s of Social Work.
