Maggie Kruger, M.A.
Maggie joined Helps Education Fund in August of 2020 as the Assistant Project Manager in Guilford County, North Carolina.
Maggie was born and raised in York, Pennsylvania. After earning her B.A. in Sociology from Temple University in 2015, she went on to teach third grade for three years in Greenville, NC as a Teach for America Corps Member.
Most recently, she completed her M.A. in Sociology and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. While in graduate school, she served as a Corps Member Coach for Teach for America, and most recently worked on the Curriculum and Content Team for Readworks.org.
Maggie’s time as a teacher reinforced the essential role that reading plays in student development and led to the discovery of one of her greatest passions- culturally relevant children’s books. She believes books have the power to help children not only understand the world and see themselves in it, but become critical consumers and ultimately changemakers.
