HELPS Tutor Trainings
Charlotte-Mecklenberg

Welcome to Our Volunteer Training Process

Thank you for your interest in volunteering as a tutor! We are so looking forward to working with you. Your next step will be to complete a new tutor training.

During your training session, you will learn more about Helping Education and the Helping Early Literacy with Practice Strategies (HELPS) reading intervention.

Your 3.5 hour training session will prepare you to implement a year’s worth of the HELPS curriculum, guide you through the school district’s mandatory volunteer registration and background check process, and walk you through submitting  our tutoring availability form. This training can be completed at a set time via Zoom or at your own pace through an online Canvas course.

Thank you again for registering to join us to become trained in our tutoring curriculum!
